Chandigarh, November 8:- Aiming at promoting eco-friendly and sustainable products, in line with the vision of a cleaner and greener Diwali, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has set up the ‘Prarambh’ store at the bustling Elante Mall, as part of the “Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali” campaign.
While sharing information about the initiative “Prarambh”, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh shared that at the kiosk, visitors can explore a large range of eco friendly products that are both innovative and socially and environmentally responsible. The products include “potlis”made from recycled clothes donated at the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centre, agarbattis (incense sticks) crafted from floral waste, handmade and intricately designed candles, captivating wall paintings, and traditional oil lamps known as diyas.
She said that the Swacch Diwali-Shubh Diwali Campaign seeks to create awareness about sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives to commonly used products during the Diwali festival. By choosing to purchase these products, individuals can actively contribute to waste reduction and foster a cleaner and greener environment, she said.

She further said that the Swacch Diwali-Shubh Diwali Campaign not only aims to create a positive impact on the environment but also supports local artisans and entrepreneurs.
